A celebration of art, music and the wonderful Kadayawan Festival
After a two-year hiatus, “Kadayawan sa Davao” is finally being celebrated in person, creating much excitement in the city as well as the tourism industry.
Now on her 37e year, the festival serves as a thanksgiving for the bountiful harvest and rich culture – a celebration of life.
To officially celebrate the festival, Park Inn by Radisson Davao has launched the Pinta Madayaw: A Kadayawan Art Exhibition in partnership with the Mindanawon Aspiring Artist Group (GAMA) and the hotel’s Kadayawan room and F&B promotions.
The event was honored by Vice Mayor of Davao City Melchor Quitain, Deputy Mayor of Bagobo Tribe – Tagabawa Bae Sheirelle Uy Anino, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia Novita and friends from the scene local art.
The exhibition aims to support local artists in GAMA and Pasudkaroy where 10% of the proceeds from artwork sold will be used to purchase art materials for children trained under Pasudkaroy.
Pasudkaroy is a non-profit group made up of visual artists from the indigenous community. One of their greatest ambitions is to expand the knowledge of IPs in the visual arts.
Along with the exhibition, the hotel also launched its Kadayawan offerings which will be on offer until the end of the month.
Treat yourself to the cake of the month – Durian Flourless Cheesecake – slices of graham crust and cream cheese, decorated with a beautiful filling of dark and white chocolate Malagos. The whole cake is priced at 1,600P while a slice is sold at 195P.
Looking for something tastier? Enjoy the Kadayawan Set Meal at P3,850 – good for 5 people. Each set comes with a bountiful platter of grilled chicken, tuna, calamari, beef satay, turmeric fried rice, ube rice turon, and pomelo jus.
