AAA is nominated – On The Radio

Loyle Carner will be the first artist to host 6 Music’s Artist in Residence: AAA – a new short film for BBC iPlayer.
The musician revealed the news when he joined Nemone, who replaced Lauren Laverne on the 6 Music Breakfast Show.
Filmed at the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios, 6 Music’s Artist in Residence: AAA gives musicians the opportunity to work with some of the world’s best gear and engineers.
The artist films a performance, collaboration or conversation to show fans their creative process and complement the Artist in Residence radio series on 6 Music and BBC Sounds.
Loyle will be joined by his producer Kwes and engineer Nick Mills to break down the tracks from his latest album, hugo to share insight into how they were created.
Born and raised in Croydon, the hip hop musician has been twice nominated for the Brit Awards. His 2017 debut album, Yesterday’s Gone, was described as album of the year by The Independent and nominated for the Mercury Prize that year. He played at Glastonbury and was also a presenter of 6 Music.
Loyle was 6 Music’s first Artist-in-Residence of 2020 and there’s another chance to hear classic episodes of his original series every week, Wednesday, November 2 through Wednesday, December 7, on 6 Music (12am-1am). and on BBC Sounds.
