Adam Lambert praised Lil Nas X for “pushing him” when it comes to the evolution of sexuality and gender.

The 39-year-old singer – who is openly gay – thinks the 22-year-old singer is a “real pop star” and he likes the fact that he’s not afraid to “get into people’s heads” when it’s about standing up for what he believes in, but he admits there is still “a lot of work to be done”.

When asked what he thinks about the evolution of sexuality and gender in 2022, Adam said: “Mine is evolving really well. I’m so happy that we are moving the needle.

“There’s a lot of work to do, but someone like Lil Nas, he’s a real pop star at this point, a lot of hits, are casting eyes on him.

“Not only that, but he’s pushing it. He’s not afraid of controversy, of putting himself in front of people, of challenging people.

“He’s on Twitter, applauding. It’s brilliant, funny, irreverent, confident.

“And he’s, what, 23 years old [sic]?! “

Adam admires Nas so much that he was recently stunned when he met him at a house party, and he felt the same when he came face to face with Dua Lipa.

He added to Attitude magazine: “When was the last time I was hit? I recently met Dua Lipa – that was cute! She’s super down to earth.

“I like people who go upstairs but who are very nice.

“I met Lil Nas X at a house party last month – so sweet. I went up to him.

“I was like, ‘It’s a who’s who …’ But that was normal.”
