Yesterday, Senator Ademola Adeleke’s transition committee said it had uncovered another mass recruitment exercise underway by Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola in alleged continuation of the governor’s efforts to put the bankrupt state and plunge it into a deeper financial mess before the governor. elect takes over on November 27, 2022.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the Media Sub-Committee, Olawale Rasheed, revealed that the incumbent administration had started the recruitment of 500 health workers with a view to increasing the state wage bill under the administration of ‘Adeleke.

“The recruitment, shrouded in mystery, is a platform for a deliberate scheme to increase the state payroll and complicate efforts to address the alarming state of state finances,” reads in part the press release.
MEANWHILE, anxiety is mounting within the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State as the Supreme Court will today decide the fate of Governor-elect, Senator Adeleke Adeleke’s candidacy.

Dotun Babayemi, former aspirant and now terminated member of Osun PDP, seeks redress for the genuine candidate between him and Adeleke.

It was understood that the Supreme Court would render judgment on the matter today to determine who is the genuine candidate for the governor’s ballot held on July 16.

In a separate development, an All Progressives Congress (APC) faction in Osun State loyal to Home Secretary Rauf Aregbesola yesterday urged the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) to resolve d urgency the crisis which shakes its chapter in the state.

The call came as party members praised the APC national leadership for including the former state governor in Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council, despite obvious opposition from certain environments.

The Rasaq Salinsile-led APC faction in the state, in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Biodun Agboola, said it was a great relief to them that the party’s national leadership had finally considered Aregbesola as a member of the campaign council, saying it would have been a minus for the party if the minister had been excluded.
