The prolific rap music artist is currently enjoying his time as the country’s top local hip-hop artist today.

The rapper, real name BJ Castillano, took first place with two booming singles titled “BMW” and “SMS”.

“BMW” is a single from Because’s 2020 album “Heartbreak SZN 2”. Streams for this single have exploded in recent weeks due to its entry on TikTok. The use of the “BMW” on the abbreviated video platform has pushed the song’s streaming numbers on both Spotify and YouTube.

At Spotify, “BMW” has gained over 260,000 streams per day since it first appeared on TikTok. Likewise, the track’s official music video and audio have gained an additional 203,819 views in the past 24 hours alone. “BMW” is a sexy, lo-fi tinted track that stars R&B singer Leslie.

Because the single “SMS” is the latest from the successful rapper. The track’s release, alongside another single titled “7777-2-3”, is a break from the three full album streak of Because the rapper released between 2018 and 2020.

“SMS” is a thrilling moody jam that borders on lo-fi. Because’s latest single is produced by NEXXFRIDAY aka Emmanuel Salen of WAYBETTR Music.
