(CNN) — Luke Combs is perhaps one of country music’s most generous stars.

Video shared on social networks featured Combs interrupting a concert this weekend in Bangor, Maine, when he spotted a sign of young fans saying they had stacked firewood to raise money to buy tickets to the show . One of the fans said he was celebrating his 12th birthday.

The singer then took out his wallet and handed them $140 from the stage, signed hats for them and said a member of his crew would accompany them backstage to give them t-shirts and other memorabilia.

But that was not all.

According to B98.5, a country music station in central Maine, Combs later refunded all tickets for his Saturday show in Bangor because his voice had been taken down and he didn’t feel able to give a full performance. .

Combs “announced he was still going to perform but, due to the condition of his voice, he didn’t feel capable of putting on a proper show,” the radio station said.

“Because of this, he was going to refund the money that viewers had paid for tickets to the show,” according to a post on the station’s website. “Visibly upset by the situation, he explained that he understands that the cost of going to a concert goes far beyond what is paid for the tickets. For many people, there are hotel rooms, dinners, babysitters, gas, etc. Reimbursing the ticket price was, in his mind, the least he could do.

Combs have always performed an abbreviated set.

The singer’s act of generosity earned him praise from fans.

“Two shows in a row is hard on anyone,” one woman wrote on Twitter. “And no matter what, that man’s voice is smooth as butter and he gave it his all in every song I heard.”
