Emmylou Harris and the Nash Ramblers release “Hello Stranger” from new album “Ramble in Music City: The Lost Concert”

Emmylou harris and the Nash Ramblers released their performance of AP Carter’s “Hello Stranger” from their upcoming album, Music City Walk: The Lost Concert, released September 3 on Nonesuch Records. You can listen to the version of the album, recorded live at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville in 1990, and watch their rendition of the song on Austin city limits in 1993 below. After fifteen years of touring with the beloved Hot Band, Emmylou Harris formed the Nash Ramblers, a new group of acoustic stars, in 1990, with Sam Bush (violin, mandolin, vocals), Roy Huskey Jr. (bass), Larry Atamanuik (drums), Al Perkins (dobro, banjo, vocals) and Jon Randall Stewart (acoustic guitar, mandolin, vocals). The band performed on the road for several months before making their Nashville debut at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center on September 28, 1990. This concert was recorded and shelved, while another concert at the Ryman Auditorium the following spring took place. been published under the title At Ryman acclaimed, winning a Grammy and sparking public interest in saving the beloved music hall. Now, over thirty years later, Rhino’s James Austin unearthed the 1990 TPAC recording, and Nonesuch will release Music City Walk: The Lost Concert for the first time.
