Filipino singer-songwriter Clara Benin’s new single titled “blink” has arrived.
The track, released Sunday, December 26 on all digital streaming platforms via OFFMUTE, is the artist’s way of honoring memories as if it were a fundamental aspect of human nature. In a press release, she explained how remembering and reliving both peaceful and traumatic moments in her life had earned her sleepless nights.
However, writing “blink” offered her comfort and peace of mind, saying it helped her resolve such thoughts. “I especially wanted this song to be a sonic journey that was metaphorical to its healing journey,” said the artist.

The 27-year-old also posted a lyric video for the track, which she directed herself. His official music video, directed by Josh Elefan, is slated for release in February of next year.
For the new track, Benin called on multi-instrumentalist Gabba Santiago to play the drums and electronic artist The Ringmaster as producer.
“Blink†is the soloist’s second solo song this year, following Bahasa’s version of her 2015 ballad “Tila†titled “Suara Hatiâ€. She also worked on two collaborations in 2021: the melodic single “A Day At A Time” with Singaporean singer Gentle Bones and the touching track “Closer Than Before” with indie band Lola Amour.
In 2020, Benin launched the “healing and cathartic†EP titled “Fragmentsâ€, which included a joint track with Charlie Lim.
