Old WISH NIGHT singer Anette Olzon, who is promoting his upcoming solo album, “Strong”, spoke to Finland Tuonela Magazine about her experience of bullying both in her personal life and by strangers on the Internet. When asked what advice she has for other bullied people, Anette said: “Well, I was bullied in my childhood and actually not that long ago in my adult life. I was a nursing student and came to a department to do my internship. And they intimidated me. And I was actually in the local magazine at the same time – a great story about [my first solo album] ‘Radiance’ or something; I don’t remember – so I was sort of the center of attention. And I think it was jealousy. We never know. I hadn’t done anything. And, in fact, they intimidated me so hard [that] I cried every day [when] I went home. And me [was], like, 47 years old [at the time], and it was like being back to school. And I hadn’t done anything. Like at school, it’s not about you.

“All I can say is that [people who are getting bullied] you have to know that it is never In regards to [them]”, she continued.” It can be jealousy; that can be it [the bullies] have a boring life – I don’t know. And haters on the internet too – they still hate me. And they always write horrible things to me, like ‘you suck.’ I get these messages all the time, on my [Instagram]. So what I didn’t do was stand up for myself in my childhood. It took me many years to take this girl who was the worst – I took her aside, [and] so I hit him a lot, actually. And it’s nothing I do, but it made him stop. And I’m not saying you should do this, but you really have to go see the principal, the teachers, you have to go to the police. Here in Sweden you can go to the police because it can be a crime to intimidate someone. If you are an adult and you are being bullied in your workspace, your workplace, just stop. If you have a boss who is intimidating you – that happens too – just quit. And haters on the internet, I mean, don’t answer them. Don’t give them your energy. Block them. I block everyone. One comment, it can be sexual, I block them. I block them instantly. I do not read [comments on] Youtube. If I [did] that I would cry every day. No, but it’s horrible. And I think people who bully other people, whether it’s as kids or … it’s even more horrible when you’re an adult, because you should know better. But if you just watch Facebook, you see them, it’s like… they can be my age and bully kids. So that’s horrible, yeah. But you have to go and see somebody, and you don’t just have to let them, because they won’t quit. “

“Strong” will be released on September 10 via Borders Music Srl. Anettesecond solo album of, after “Radiance”, is a harder and faster musical offering than the first.

Music for “Strong” was written and composed with the famous Swedish guitarist and producer Magnus karlsson.

Olzon originally joined WISH NIGHT in 2007 and recorded two studio albums with the band before being fired in 2012 in the middle of the band’s North American tour. It was replaced by the old one AFTER FOREVER singer Jansen floor.

Since the end of his five-year term with WISH NIGHT, Olzon published “Radiance” and trained THE DARK ELEMENT with the old one ARCTIC SONATA guitarist Jani Liimatainen. The group’s self-titled debut album was released in 2017; a trace, “Songs the night sings”, was released in November 2019.

Olzon and famous progressive metal singer Russell allen (SYMPHONY X, ADRENALINE MOB) released a collaborative album titled “Worlds apart” in March 2020 via Borders Music Srl. The project was published under the name ALLEN / OLZON.
