Girl power rules “The voice,” and Gwen Stefani led the pack on Tuesday night.

Stefani emerged victorious in the fourth round of blind auditions when she tagged Tanner Howe, a 29-year-old freelance artist from Huntington Beach, California. Howe’s “Mercy” Soaring Cover by Shawn Mendes not only earned him a three-chair turn from Stefani and coaches Blake Shelton and john legendit also created friction between Shelton and Legend.

“Your voice sounds really good in the low end. It was a little off there, but once you got up into that tenor section of your voice, it was so clear and so powerful,” Legend said. to Howe “I would love to work with you and help you make the most of the amazing voice you have.”

Shelton immediately disagreed with Legend’s interpretation of Howe’s voice. “I don’t think you should sag like he suggests and not get better,” he said. “That’s the whole point of being on this show, it’s getting over that hump.”

Ultimately, Howe was influenced by his connection in Cali with Stefani (Shelton’s wife), choosing the ‘Orange County Girl’ to be his coach.

“See John, your insistence on fighting me has derailed both of us,” Shelton said. “Stop trying to argue with me.”

Gwen Stefani loses Utah songwriter to Camila Cabello

Utah singer-songwriter Sydney Kronmiller blew Stefani and her new coach away Camila Cabello with his distinct tone and tender rendition of Disclosure and Sam Smith’s “Latch,” earning a chair trick from both coaches.

“I love someone who’s a songwriter (who) has this really low-key, beautiful tone,” Stefani said. “I’ll see if I can fight (Camila) on this one.”

Cabello raved about Kronmiller’s acoustic reworking of Sam Smith’s techno hit.

“It’s a very vulnerable and intimate choice,” Cabello said. “The version I know is this electronic version of Sam Smith-Disclosure, and this person is removing it, and She plays guitare.

Stefani lost this battle to Cabello, as Kronmiller opted to join Team Camila.

John Legend scores ‘tremendous’ four-chair singer Parijita Bastola

Teenage R&B singer Parijita Bastola, the first Nepalese American contestant to appear on the show, stunned the coaches with her moving rendition of of the Labrinth “Jealous,” scoring a four-chair turn herself and standing ovations from Cabello and Legend.

“You are so in touch with your heart, it’s unbelievable,” Stefani told Bastola. “You are so natural and very unique.”

The legend was moved by Bastola’s unwavering legacy and vocal prowess. “The best artists are able to bring the music of their culture and their roots into the wider global music landscape,” he said. “Your voice is that kind of transcendent voice, and it would be an honor for me to work with you.”

Bastola ultimately chose the R&B heavyweight as his trainer.

“What a magical young lady. It was such a perfect and beautiful performance,” he said. “She is one of our most formidable performers in this competition this season.”
