Indonesian Folk Artist Sekaranggi Shares Poignant New Single, “It’s Hard To Be Me”

Indonesian musician Sekaranggi shared a poignant single titled “It’s Hard To Be Me”.
The sleek, piano-driven track hit major streaming services via indie label Notive on Friday, November 19. It follows on from his second album “Delapanâ€, released in September.
According to Mancode.id magazine, an earlier version of the new single was released with his college band in 2016, but the lyrics have now been changed to match his original draft of the track.

Sekaranggi also revealed that “It’s Hard To Be Me†is one of his favorite songs to date.
“To this day, deep in my heart, I often feel pressured because I am not able to express my true feelings,†she said. Mancode.id.
“Through this song, I want to learn to be courageous and to honestly convey the true voice of my heart.”
The self-composed and produced single was mixed and mastered by Sekaranggi’s close friend Mohammad Armansyah. He is also expected to feature on ‘Kompilasi Rakyat Vol. 1 ‘(People’s Compilation Vol. 1), which will feature nine songs by 11 artists when released on November 17th.
Sekaranggi – real name Aisyah Sekaranggi Andjani – released their debut studio album “Safar” (“Travel” in Arabic) in 2019, citing Lucy Rose, Radiohead, Billie Eilish as influences.
After releasing his latest album, Sekaranggi said NME that “Delapan†underlines the themes of the eternal bond, of the passing of time and of the “turning wheel that is lifeâ€.

“It was more about the concept of dualism, like yin and yang, black and white, joy and sadness, up and down. If you listen to this album, some songs are immensely devastating while others are incredibly joyful. This is what I would like to emphasize.
