Interview with Yebba: Musician on Life, Dawn Album, Music and 2020 | New
[ad_1]
Yebba has seen it all. From the moment a NYC the performance of his fascinating song “My Mind” went viral in 2016, Yebba – Abbey Smith – has been plunged into the frenzied chaos of the music industry. The amazing clarity, immense power and incredible control that Yebba has over his voice is amazing and compelling with every listen.
Lucky for her (and for us), she seemed to find her footing in the industry fairly easily and caught the attention of big names. In just five years, she partnered with a host of huge artists like Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Chance The Rapper, A Tribe Called Quest and, most importantly, Mark Ronson. This latest blockbuster has headed the production of Yebba’s upcoming debut album, DAWN, release scheduled for September. Ready to go through Yebba’s own trauma and enduring hope, DAWN will undoubtedly showcase Yebba’s vocal prowess, but also his talent for incredibly intimate and evocative storytelling.
Like DAWN approaches, MTV Australia decided to choose her brain with urgent questions and learned how Aretha Franklin, witchcraft, and tequila all take up space there.
