Next Parkinson’s UK New Forest Branch ‘Parkinson’s Friendly’ Film Club Screening will be Friday, December 16 at 11:00 + Christmas party lunch at the Malt Cinema in the Lymington Centre.

In collaboration with the Lymington Center, we show Mathilde the musical – with Emma Thompson, Stephen Graham, Andrew Riseborough and Alisha Weir. It’s the story of Matilda’s Roald Dahl, the smart, lonely little girl with secret X-men-like superpowers, sent to a horrible school run by a hideous disciplinary called Mrs. Trunchball, like a cross between a gun and an attack dog. Matilda has a sharp mind and a wild imagination and dares to take a stand to change her story with miraculous results!

A fun, jubilant, dazzling film not to be missed! Matilda has the power of telekinesis!

Tickets cost £7 pp to see the film or £15.50 pp for the film and Christmas lunch!

  • Tickets for the film or film + lunch can be booked online (lymingtoncommunity.com), by phone (01590 672337) or at the Lymington Center reception (New Street, Lymington, SO41 9BQ), either in advance, either the same day. Pre-booking for lunch would be best if possible, but you can always book it on the day.
  • A buffet lunch will be provided by the Lymington Center in one of their function rooms after the film – a chance to compare notes on what you thought of the film!
  • If you are bringing a wheelchair, please book your ticket through the Lymington Center

Each month there is a dedicated ‘Parkinson’s Friendly’ cinema of a film at the Malt Cinema in the Lymington Centre. The Malt cinema can meet all your needs and it’s an opportunity to have fun and socialize with others in a very friendly setting!

All people with Parkinson’s disease, their caregivers, family and friends are invited to join in the fun! More the merrier, the merrier! You don’t have to be a member of Parkinson’s UK New Forest Branch Support Group – these tours are open to anyone with Parkinson’s in the wider community.

  • Parking: There are car parks in Emsworth Road, behind Tesco and next to Tesco in Canon Street. There are disabled parking spaces in these car parks – blue badge parking is free with no time limit
  • Disabled facilities – these are available throughout Lymington Center and wheelchairs can be accommodated in the cinema
  • Opening – the doors will be open well before the start of the film
  • Start times – the movie will not start until everyone is seated and ready and there will be a gap for people to take a break
  • Malt Café—will be open for morning coffees, lunches, and afternoon teas. Drinks in take-out cups can be taken to the cinema
  • Ice cream and sweets are available
  • Cushions—additional cushions are available for your comfort
  • Films – these will vary as well as screening times
