Prestige America was sued over Ralph Lauren brands, but falsely declared bankruptcy

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 16 – Ralph Lauren sued Prestige America LLC for infringing its trademarks under the Lanham Act.

On April 15, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Judge P. Kevin Castel, held a hearing. Inner City Press has it covered.

The plaintiff complained that the defendant had misled him by telling him that he had filed for bankruptcy, when in fact it was another company – and asked for permission to file for bankruptcy. motion for summary judgment.

Judge Castel gave the plaintiff five days to file an amendment complaint, adding an additional defendant.

He ordered that when, as the defendants respond to the amended complaint, the plaintiff may submit a letter of pre-motion on a motion for summary judgment.

The case is PRL USA Holdings, Inc. v. Prestige America LLC, et al., 20-cv-10201 (Castel)
