The lineup of producers for upcoming K-pop survival show “The Idol Band: Boy’s Battle” has been revealed.

“K-pop groups FT Island, CN Blue, N. Flying and Japanese groups Kankaku Piero and Keytalk have been chosen as producers,” local broadcaster SBS said Thursday.

“FT Island, CN Blue and N. Flying are globally popular bands that have proven their musical uniqueness as K-pop idol groups. Kankaku Piero and Keytalk are bands well known for their explosive rock music and production abilities.

Han Seong-ho, executive producer and CEO of FNC Entertainment, and guitarist Hatake from Japanese rock band Sharam Q will participate as “special masters” to help producers with their choices.

The five groups will act as producers in a bid to discover new talent for a next-generation K-pop boy group with distinct musical abilities and visuals that “can lead the global music market.”

Japanese broadcaster TBS, entertainment agency FNC Entertainment and SBS subsidiary SBS Medianet are leading the project.

“The Idol Band: Boy’s Battle” will air on SBS affiliate channels SBS M, SBS FiL and TBS next month.
