NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA – Whether it’s helping someone living with Parkinson’s disease or picking us up when we’re down, the power of music truly is endless.

For a talented trio of Shamokin, music has been the common thread of their family for generations, only strengthening their bond.

Ryan was reunited with this family from the Shamokin area after someone shared their photo and story on Facebook. Something to smile about with three generations of musicians sharing a stage and their love of music with so many people in our region.

The power of music: It can uplift us, ease heartaches, and bring people from all walks of life together.

And for three generations of Northumberland County musicians, it has helped create a bond like no other.

“I don’t know of a family closer than us. And I think music has a lot to do with it,” said Amanda Krebs.

Phil Krebs talked about making music with his family.

“It’s like a dream come true, actually. Never in my life have I dreamed that one day I would have a band, and my daughter and granddaughter would join me in this endeavor. is so awesome. It keeps me going. keeps me in it, “Phil said.

Phil’s granddaughter shares the same sentiment.

“It’s really special because there are a lot of kids my age who don’t have the privilege of being able to say that they can be involved in something as big as this. My mom and my big “Dad. It’s just the coolest thing I can do because these are so many amazing memories,” said Samantha Stancavage.

Memories stretching back over a decade to now 16-year-old Samantha Stancavage from the Shamokin region. Sam started singing and learning to play multiple instruments as a young girl, all thanks to her grandfather, Phil, and her mother, Amanda. Music lessons that take place with the family.

“It’s indescribable to know that I started at seven, sitting in my bedroom playing guitar with my dad. And I’m 40 now, and we still play guitar together. You know, he there isn’t a lot in this world that can bring people together like music here. And it’s really an honor and one of the coolest things I’ve ever been able to do. And we make sure to let people know that we are family when we play because it is so important to us, ”said Amanda.

This is also why this trio chose to name their acoustic group Bloodline.

“The music that we play is just a huge spectrum. We take it back to the 70s, and then it’s just the 2000s. It’s all over the place,” Samantha said.

Ryan asked Samantha what her friends think about her family’s musical talents.

“I go to Shamokin area high school and a lot of my friends think it’s super cool,” Samantha said.

“She never ceases to amaze me. Every time I think, ‘Is she really going to get this song done,’ she does it ten times better than I ever imagined. Her talents are so amazing. And it makes me so proud to be her mom, ”Amanda said.

The trio all agreed that while Phil is the best guitarist in the band, Samantha is the best singer.

“I can’t lie, this is her,” Amanda said.

Music, the medicine of our mind and soul, and the universal language that has the power to uplift us all and bring families together.

A power that Phil says, “This is my reason to smile here.”
