This nativity scene has a view of the water, and you are invited.

Music from the Manger, a new three-day Christmas event in Port Royal featuring food trucks, vendors and music, kicks off Friday and continues Sunday against the beautiful backdrop of Battery Creek. It’s for a good cause.

A dilapidated warehouse has been transformed into a rustic nativity scene and concert hall.

Mayor Joe DeVito will start on weekend of festivities at 6 p.m. on Friday when the Vendors’ Christmas Village opens. Entrance to the festival to enjoy vendors and food trucks is free, but don’t forget to buy tickets for Liz Jane’s concert Saturday at the crèche. Jane produced a Christmas CD titled “A Thrill of Hope”.

The funds raised will benefit Beaufort Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA).

Father Christmas will visit the village at 7 p.m. Saturday, followed by a concert by Liz Jane. The city’s annual meeting golf cart parade at 6.15 p.m. Saturday will end at Christmas Village.
