Cat Burns spoke to music week on the success of TikTok and its partnership with Since ’93.

the RCA label scored a breakthrough into the Top 10 with their single Go. the track went from No. 19 to No. 10 with sales up 35.4% week after week at 20,463, according to the Official Charts Company. After four weeks of strong increases, its total sales to date stand at 122,533.

The Streatham singer-songwriter is now likely to get an extra boost after dropping a new video.

Go was a viral hit, with combined content around the track earning over 564 million views on ICT Tac. The global platform premiered Go’s music video on TikTok LIVE.

“TikTok has been so helpful in helping me share my music,” said Cat Burns music week. “It can definitely speed up songs you didn’t expect to blast, and really helps make your case with labels and management. You just can’t deny the numbers, basically.

The single has now reached 24 million global streams on Spotify, where Burns has 5.1 million monthly listeners. Go has secured playlist placements on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music worldwide.

Burns, a British school graduate, praised her label team for supporting her vision.

“I love it so far, I really feel listened to in my label,” she said. “Because of the following I’ve built up, I think they trust my vision for myself. It was good to learn how the music industry works – I’m super nosy and love know everything that is going on.

Burns tapped Irish DJ duo Nervous Freaks and Northampton producer Goddard to bring Go into the electronic space with their respective deep house and drum & bass revamps. She also shared a stripped-down piano version of Go.

His live career also took off with a first appearance at The great Escape in Brighton in May, followed by sold-out shows at omeara of london (24-25 May) and The Deaf Institute in Manchester (26 May). Burns will support Mae Muller during his UK tour.

A new EP, Emotionally Unavailable, will be released in April.
