She took some time to focus on her album and now Inga Hina is ready to release Promises To Makhulu.

She is busy working on her new album. She recently released two singles Ndibize Nam and Fela Emazweni from her upcoming album.

Singer and songwriter Inga Hina (30) is a singing sensation. She is due to release her 10-track album on September 3, 2021 titled Promises To Makhulu.

“Makhulu means grandmother, the album sums up the promises I made to mine. Making my grandmother proud has always been at the forefront of my musical dream, just a few days after I finished the album, the track fell to my knees, ”said Inga. His music is a fusion of several different sounds.

“The sound is afro-soul, pop and old school R&B. But I also have the feeling that it will continue to change but deep down, it’s moving and nostalgic. “

This Woman’s Month, Inga celebrates her late grandmother who raised her. “She is the symbol of a strong black woman who [single-handedly] brought her whole family, her children, her grandchildren and our cousins together, ”says Inga.

“I didn’t realize how financially difficult we were, until much later in life. She made the most of nothing, it was like we had it all.

“The last project she released was her single Big Bad City in October 2019,” she says.

“My music has evolved since then. I have learned to trust what I have to say a little more now. I realize that I have a story to tell and that there is someone who is like me, i no longer try to figure out what i think people would like to hear, ”says Inga.

She is inspired by people’s everyday stories.

“Friends and family, sometimes a glass of wine and something random a friend would say in passing could sweat over a song. But I often sing about love, loss, the struggle for your dreams.

Inga is inspired by artists such as Birdy, Emeli Sande, Lana Del Rey, Ringo, Shekhinah, Simphiwe Dana, Bongeziwe Mabandla and many more.

“I listen to all types of music and maybe that’s why it’s hard to find just one genre and stick to it, in my music.”

She has been a recording artist since 2013.

“But I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved music and knew I wanted to sing since I was 15 or 16. It was never about thinking or realizing that I was good at it, I just knew that was what made me feel alive the way I did. a place in the world. I grew up with uncles who loved music, I just used it, so I would say I was self-taught.

She has collaborated with artists like Mobi Dixon, DJ SK and DJ Laylo.

“I would love to collaborate with more singers and songwriters in the future,” says Inga.

Its aim is to reach the ears of the whole world.

“I’m looking for an album and haven’t released as much music as I would like yet. I’ve done a lot of sign writing and just want to stop overthinking and sharing. release of the album, I want to collaborate a little more.
