The Collingwood ensemble strikes a chord with music festival judges

Rondo Ensemble is pleased to announce several Gold Medals from the Barrie Music Festival.
The ensemble is made up of student musicians from Collingwood and surrounding areas and is led by musical director Keiko Yoden-Kuepfer and instrumental coach Susan Connolly.
The ensemble was able to submit entries to the Festival by recording their performances and uploading them to YouTube where they could be viewed by the judges. Rondo Ensemble enjoys performing community concerts as well as visiting retirement homes.
The ensemble has received the following awards from the Barrie Music Festival.
Rondo Ensemble Group: Gold Certificate
Violin – Kari Zhang, Violet Pugsley, Sunny Valdez
Cello – Quinn Robitaille
Piano – Gabriel Long
Duo Ensemble Rondo: Gold Certificate
Violin – Sunny Valdez
Cello – Quinn Robitaille
Rondo Ensemble Trio: silver certificate
Violin – Kari Zhang, Violet Pugsley
Piano – Gabriel Long
Keiko and Susan express their sincere gratitude to the students and families for their support in the face of the continued challenges of the pandemic and the positive attitudes demonstrated by the young musicians working together.
Rondo Ensemble would also like to thank Tyler Cleary of the City of Collingwood for his continued help in organizing Simcoe Street Theater and Pastor Jane of Hope Chapel for opening their doors for rehearsal space.
