Thundercat show suspended as potential vocalist tries to perform for audience

A Thundercat show turned awkward after an aspiring singer tried to win her fifteen minutes of fame and perform in front of the entertainer’s audience.
Footage filmed by fans of the Thundercat show at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut on Tuesday, Aug. 16, shows the entertainer and the stranger sharing a hug onstage. After breaking away from Thundercat – aka Stephen Bruner – the woman readjusted her microphone before addressing the crowd: “Well, here I am. I am a singer. Can I sing?
Bruner is then seen attempting to end the interruption politely, but the woman appears to be pleading with the entertainer for her chance at fame, before she is removed from the stage – raising her middle finger to the crowd – by staff of the room.

Bruner’s extensive North American tour is currently underway. Along with a slew of big hits, the artist’s schedule also continues his string of appearances with the Red Hot Chili Peppers as part of their World Stadium Tour.
In April 2020, Bruner released his fourth studio album, “It Is What It Is”. A four-star review by NME‘s Sam Moore saw the release hailed as a meditation on life and death. “Thundercat’s lyrical reflections on grief, uncertainty and gradual healing are incorporated into ‘It Is What It Is’.”
