Twenty years of streetcore: Toxpack blows ZWANZIG.TAUSEND VOLT into the world!
Toxpack is an institution. For 20 years, Berliners have blasted the purest streetcore in the republic, playing countless shows, from the most borderline hellhole to the country’s most powerful festival stages, to the toughest asphalt at the top of the charts. Two decades of pure dedication – doing their own thing, going their own way, and attracting more and more followers along the way. And now this: ZWANZIG.TAUSEND VOLT (released Jan. 28 via Napalm Records) is coming, and it’s an intense thunderstorm for an album. It rumbles, it bangs – and then inevitably and mercilessly comes the impact. And silence is never more intense than right after hell.
Today, Toxpack delivers a taste of the new album with “Bastarde für alle Zeit”, an intense storm straight out of the mosh pit. With heartfelt vocals and lyrics, melodic riffs and raging drums, Toxpack celebrates its 20th anniversary and looks back on milestones achieved while putting a clear sign against intolerance, prejudice and stereotypes. Watch the music video below.
ZWANZIG.TAUSEND VOLT is a push of expulsion – anger, hatred and despair, raw and unfiltered. This is the tone that Toxpack has been setting for 20 years. They can’t do and they don’t want anything else: the street for the street.
The powerful opener “ZWANZIG.TAUSEND VOLT” strikes irresistibly, a worthy greeting straight from the devil’s kitchen. It ranges from doubting the existence of divine powers (“Ozean voll Scheiße”), to wallowing in memories of the good old days (“Noch einmal so wie früher”). “Bastarde für alle Zeit”, “Totgeglaubt, doch neugeboren” and “Kopf durch die Wand” are classic Toxpack materials: mercilessly crafted for the mosh pits of this world. At the very end, after the storm, there is “Himmelwärts”, a very special piece from the band’s history. This is a last greeting to those who left too early. No one is immortal, no one is invulnerable. Those who are vulnerable are strong.
ZWANZIG.TAUSEND VOLT is also a gift for all old and new fans. Toxpack is 20 years of streetcore, strength, intensity and unconditional honesty, felt by many. The connection between the band and the fans is unique – and ZWANZIG.TAUSEND VOLT is the energy boost for all that’s yet to come.
Guitarist and lyricist Tommi Tox on the new album: “All the energy, the perseverance, what we have been through and the constant desire to always give everything, just everything that has accumulated over the last 20 years, inevitably ends up on this album and it has to be sent to this world. We probably couldn’t have given ourselves a better birthday present. “
Varying in certain territories, ZWANZIG.TAUSEND VOLT will be released digitally and on CD, as a bundle with T-shirt as well as a bundle of 2 CDs with flag and exclusive demos, in black as well as in limited yellow-black vinyl. (100 pieces from around the world) and as an awesome 60 page listening book + hand numbered autograph card. ZWANZIG.TAUSEND VOLT belongs to all collections of punk rock, hard rock and metal fans and friends of German speaking rock.
