Released globally on Friday June 24, the EP cleverly titles I am Nayeon (her full name but also serves as the intro “I’m Nayeon”) honors all parts of the charming singer-songwriter with a refreshing twist that highlights her true superstar appeal.

Nayeon’s first solo single “Pop!” reminiscent of the feel-good K-pop anthems TWICE became famous for, but now with exuberant brass hits acting as a great match to the star’s sweet vocals. No expense seemed retained to bring “Pop!” to life in the music video, with Nayeon leading dance troupes through massive sets mixing luxury brands with whimsical accessories. Visually striking herself, Nayeon has new blonde hair and has experimented with her makeup to come off almost like a brand new pop supernova in the music video at times.

Prominent names from the world of global pop have also come together for this release: stray kids rapper and Australian native Felix appears as a feature on English track “No Problem”; UK Girl Group Jade Thirlwall small mixture worked on the “Candyfloss” bubblegum cut; Korean rapper Wonstein hops on R&B-pop track “Love Countdown”; while Hot 100 production team The Stereotypes and American singer-songwriter Destiny Rogers composed “All or Nothing” with Nayeon as their sole songwriter.

TWICE has climbed the Billboard 200 with four entries to date, including two top 10 entries, scoring new chart highs with each release and most recently hitting a new high of No. 3 last November with their Love Formula: O+T=<3 full album. With the backing of US label Republic Records and TWICE’s huge fan base – which helped them become the first K-pop girl group to book a stadium show in America – it will be exciting to see how Nayeon fares. produced in the United States through this important solo moment as a group. approaching its seventh birthday.
