‘You sampled my song on your track Ginger’: Veteran Blackface singer slams Wizkid and Burna Boy

  • Veteran Nigerian singer Blackface recently claimed that Grammy Award-winning Afrobeat duo Wizkid and Burna stole and used part of his song with his consent.
  • Blackface, in a post, shared on his Twitter handle, criticized Wizkid and Burna Boy for sampling his song Twist and Turn on their 2020 track Ginger
  • The veteran singer’s allegation sparked backlash online as fans of the Grammy-winning duo took to his page to troll him, calling him an attention seeker.

Nigerian singer Ahmedu Augustine, better known as Blackface, recently sparked reactions online when he shared a slamming post from singers aces Assistant and Burna Boy in an allegation of copyright theft.

Blackface shared on his Twitter page that the two singers didn’t get his consent to sample his sound on their 2020 hit track, Ginger.

The former Plantainshan Boiz singer noted that the best the two singers could have done was to call him, and he would have given them the green light.

Recall that Blackface was locked in a copyright battle for years with his former bandmate 2face, claiming he was the true owner of the evergreen track African Queen.

Fans slam Blackface as an attention seeker for calling out Wizkid and Burna Boy

However, Blackface’s latest call sparked a completely different reaction as Wizkid and Burna Boy fans stormed his page trolling him, describing him as an attention seeker.

The veteran singer’s call to Ginger comes two years after the Wizkid Made In track was released Lagos album.
